Harry Potter author JK Rowling and her husband, Dr Neil Murray, are celebrating the arrival of their first child.
The millionaire writer gave birth to a boy in Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary on Sunday and mother and baby have now left the hospital.
The writer has a nine-year-old daughter, Jessica, from a previous marriage.
Rowling married Dr Murray in a secret Boxing Day ceremony in 2001 at the writer's home in Perthshire, Scotland.
Rowling's publicist Nicky Stonehill said: "Both mother and baby are
doing well."

A spokeswoman for the Royal Infirmary said: "We are delighted to be able to confirm that she
gave birth to a son at the Simpson Centre for Reproductive Health on Sunday."
Rowling has become an international celebrity thanks to the global popularity of her Harry Potter books.
A fifth novel, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is due to be released world-wide in June.
Two films of the first two Potter novels have been released, grossing more than $1.7bn (£1.08bn) world-wide.
