Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who caused a scandal over her affair with then US president Bill Clinton, is to present a TV game show.

Lewinsky has been lined by US network Fox to front dating show Mr Personality.

The 29-year-old hit the headlines in 1998 when her affair with the president was revealed, leading to attempts to have Mr Clinton impeached.

Since the scandal, Lewinsky has been travelling the world promoting her book, Monica Speaks, and guesting on chat shows.

She also designs handbags and accessories which she sells through her own website.

The idea behind Mr Personality is that a group of men have their faces covered as they try to court a beautiful woman.

The woman, who cannot see their faces, will eliminate a contestant each week until one man is crowned winner.

"The combination of Monica Lewinsky with a concept like Mr Personality will result in a big tune-in," said creator Bruce Nash.

"It's already a unique concept, and she's certainly well-known."

Lewinsky was approached to take part in the US version of Celebrity Boxing but turned it down.

Speaking about her new assignment, she said: "Since Fox is the network that has had the greatest success with the reality genre, I was very excited when they approached me to host the show.

"It sounds like good fun."
