Actress Bridget Fonda is recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering head and neck injuries in a car crash.

The Single White Female star was alone in the car, a Jaguar, when it plunged over an embankment on a section of the Pacific Coast Highway.

It had been raining heavily before the accident happened in the early hours of Thursday.
