Actor Kevin Spacey is to show off his vocal talents alongside Sir Elton John at a charity concert.

The Oscar-winning star will perform a series of duets with the singer to raise funds for the Old Vic theatre in London.

The concert takes place at the theatre on 5 February, with tickets priced at up to 1,000.

Other artists appearing include Ms Dynamite, Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri, Sinead O'Connor, Lulu and Elvis Costello.

As chairman of the Old Vic Theatre Trust, Sir Elton is aiming to raise funding to secure the venue's future.

Performers will run through some of his best-known songs alongside the singer-songwriter and pianist.

Spacey, who won an Oscar for his role in American Beauty, is a board member of the trust.

He has already showcased his singing skills during a previous concert at the venue to aid victims of the 11 September terrorist attacks.

Sir Elton and Spacey have worked with Old Vic chief executive Sally Greene to create the bill.

A spokesman for the event said: "They have put together a truly spectacular evening with an extraordinary line-up of guests, who will sing some of Elton's best-loved songs."

Spacey recently launched a website to help undiscovered writers sell their scripts and films.

Triggerstreet.com aims to give new writers and film-makers constructive criticism about their ideas.

Sir Elton's records are still topping the charts, 30 years after he first took the pop world by storm in the mid-1970s.

In December his single Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word - a collaboration with boy band Blue - knocked Eminem from the number one spot.
