Wednesday, January 27, 1999 Published at 15:16 GMT Entertainment Pitt wins court order against fan ![]() Brad Pitt: Claims a "chant" was put on him and Gwyneth Paltrow Hollywood star Brad Pitt has been granted a temporary restraining order against a teenager accused of breaking into his home and trying on his clothes. Athena Marie Rolando, 19, has been barred from contacting the Seven star or coming within 100 metres of him. She climbed through a window of Pitt's Los Angeles home on 7 January, and was later found asleep in a bedroom, wearing the actor's clothes. Pitt said Rolando had left "many menacing and bizarre letters" at the front gate of his home since September 1996. She wrote him a letter of apology for placing a "chant" on him and former girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow more than three years ago. "I was young and selfish... I am sorry... I didn't think it would work, and your eyes have haunted me since then," the letter said.
Small screen stars line up for prizes
The police drama was nominated for four awards, Frasier and ER got three and Seinfeld two. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were also nominated for their roles in The X-Files. Friends, Ally McBeal, 3rd Rock From The Sun and drama ER were also nominated in the Best Ensemble category. The awards will be presented on 7 March.
Jackson in broken wrist mystery
He stayed for just over 11 hours at the Cedars Medical Center in Miami, where he had an X-ray taken, according to his publicist Bob Jones. "He's fine, and just checked in and out. He was treated for a small fracture in his right wrist and it won't hamper his activities," said Jones. Jones added he did not know how Jackson, 40, injured himself.
Oklahoma! moves to the West End
The Royal National Theatre's revival of the 1947 show has been nominated for nine Olivier awards next month and won critical acclaim. Trevor Nunn's production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical stars Maureen Lipman as Aunt Eller. West Side Story and Chicago are other classic musicals also currently enjoying West End revivals.
McElhone teams up with Branagh
The Truman Show star, who played an Irish terrorist boss opposite Robert De Niro in the thriller Ronin, has signed for Kenneth Branagh's next production. She will join American stars Alicia Silverstone and Nathan Lane in the cast of Love's Labour's Lost, which Branagh intends to film as a 1930s Hollywood romantic comedy.
Steiger set for directing debut Hollywood veteran Rod Steiger is to make his film directing debut at the age of 74 with Thanksgiving. The actor, who won an Oscar for his role in 1967's In The Heat of The Night, will also star in the movie as one of three old friends who get together for a holiday reunion. Steiger plans to ask some of his friends in showbusiness to play roles in the film, which will be shot in the desert heat of Palm Springs this summer. |
