Denise Van Outen: Feature film debut
Big Breakfast presenter Denise Van Outen has shot her first feature film role - playing a flirt on the London Underground.

Ms Van Outen is the latest addition to the cast of Tube Tales, which tells real-life stories of strange happenings on the capital's Underground network.

Ewan McGregor, Jude Law and Jarvis Cocker are among the directors working on the film, which will be broadcast on Sky Premier in the Spring.

The 10 stories which make up Tube Tales were contributed by readers of the listings magazine Time Out.

The project is also the first production for Sky Pictures, set up to provide the broadcaster with home-grown film output.

Van Outen dyed her hair red to play Alex in Horny, where she wreaks revenge on a sleazy businessman on a train journey.

"Being here brings back lots of memories of travelling on the Tube as a schoolgirl," she said.

"Rather like my character, I have used my sexuality a lot to get attention on the Tube. And as it is a confined space, they can't get away."

Horny is directed by Stephen Hopkins, who also directed Lost In Space.

Van Outen shot to fame fronting Channel 4's morning show, but will leave The Big Breakfast at the end of the year to persue new projects.
