John Squire: Your views
John Squire (left)
Squire found fame with the Stone Roses
John Squire is best known as lead guitarist with The Stone Roses but now he hopes to establish himself as a solo artist.

Squire sings lead vocals on Time Changes Everything - having looked for a different singer, none were quite right and he ended up working alone.

"The post-whine Bob Dylan influence is there for all to hear - and remains omnipresent throughout this impressive solo debut," says BBC News Online's Chris Charles.

But what do you think?

Is it a work of genius? Or will this effort go the same way as The Seahorses?

Have your say

Not a work of genius but a firm comeback after a few years in the wilderness. I can only hope John doesnt wait another 5 years before he turns his next album out. His voice takes time to get used to but after a while settles in. Its certainly different from all his other music displays. 7 out of 10
John Audsley, Engand

While it is impossible to achieve the level of greatness attained by the 1989 eponymous debut, Squire's latest is a return to melodic, sincere guitar music. Living in a world saturated with hip-hop hardcore wannabes, teenage treacle, and third rate heavy metal bands, we should all be grateful for Squire's return. "What the world's been waiting for," however, is reteaming with Brown.
T. J. Gillespie, USA
