Evans is a larger-than-life character
Former DJ and TV presenter Chris Evans has promised to tell about his turbulent media career after signing a seven-figure deal to write his autobiography.

Evans, who is planning a TV comeback as a producer, says he will give a "full and frank account" of his life in his book Little Bigshot.

The book is due for release in the autumn, although he is still working on the final draft.

Evans said: "I am really enjoying working on the book.

"I have been writing most of my life, but it's good to have the chance to write at greater length and to make sense of what's been happening around me."

Evans, 36, attempted to drop out of the media spotlight for a year to spend time with his teenage wife, pop star Billie Piper.

He is now planning his return to the media as a producer of Channel 5's new entertainment show Live With Chris Moyles.

He also has another show, Girls and Boys, due to be screened in the new year.

Evans has been at the centre of acres of news coverage since he burst onto the seen as the presenter of the Big Breakfast.

But he was not satisfied with a mere presenting job and went on to found Ginger Productions, which produced his successful quiz show Don't Forget Your Toothbrush and TFI Friday.

He was recruited by BBC Radio 1 to host its breakfast show but left acrimoniously after asking to have to every Friday off.

He transferred to Virgin Radio as its breakfast show host and eventually bought the company from Sir Richard Branson.

But after selling the company in a multi-million pound deal he found himself out of a job after failing to turn up for work, claiming he was ill but being spotted drinking in pubs.

His love life has also been of great interest,including a short-lived romance with former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, which was widely seen as a publicity stunt.

Evans then started dating Billie Piper, another relationship which many expecged would not last.

But after a secret wedding in Las Vegas the pair decided to quit showbusiness to spend time together travelling the world.

After a year away, both are ready to take the limelight again, with Piper planning a new album.
