Buffy star Gellar marries her Prinze
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah Michelle Gellar is best known as Buffy
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has married fellow star Freddie Prinze Jr, her publicist confirmed.

The Scooby-Doo co-stars wed in Mexico on Sunday in front of a select group of family and friends.

Gellar, 25, and Prinze, 26, met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer five years ago.

A spokeswoman for Gellar's Los Angeles publicists, Baker Winokur Ryder, told BBC News Online the bride wore a Vera Wang dress for the ceremony and the groom a bespoke linen suit.

The exact location of the wedding has not been revealed but it is reported to have been on a Pacific clifftop on a secluded estate near the Mexican resort of Puerto Vallarta.

The couple, who live in a Los Angeles mansion, became engaged in April last year.

Rumours circulated in July that they had secretly tied the knot in a chapel in Las Vegas.

Gellar's progress towards Hollywood's A-list has continued recently with her turn as Daphne in the successful live action version of Scooby-Doo.

She rose to fame as the eponymous vampire-slaying hero in cult TV hit Buffy The Vampire Slayer but she has also had a string of film roles in the likes of Scream 2 and Cruel Intentions.

Prinze also played opposite her in Scooby-Doo as the clean-cut Fred.
