Psychic voted off Survivor show
Uri Geller
Geller says he knew he was out
Psychic Uri Geller has become the first contestant to be voted out of the Australian jungle on the ITV1 show I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

Eight minor celebrities have been pitted against each other in the jungle, in a show dubbed Celebrity Survivor, with the aim of winning money for their chosen charity.

The public has been voting for which of the stars it wants to win the show, and the one who receives the least votes each day will leave,

Geller described his time on the show as "the experience of my life".

"I learnt a lot about myself," he told the show's hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. "But life in there was very, very hard. There were many social pressures."

He said that he knew he would be the first to be evicted from the jungle. "Inside my mind, it said 'Uri, you are out today'".

Ratings for I'm a Celebrity... have remained fairly steady, with 6.4 million people tuning in to Saturday night's episode.

Comedian Rhona Cameron is the bookies' favourite to leave next, with Coral offering odds of 2-1 on her getting the chop.

Cameron has rowed continually with several of her colleagues, including socialiteTara Palmer-Tomkinson and TV presenter Darren Day.

The contestants, who are being filmed 24 hours a day for a nightly show, also include politician's wife Christine Hamilton, boxer Nigel Benn, model Nell McAndrew and DJ Tony Blackburn.

Benn and Day are joint second favourites to be evicted, while McAndrew is the outsider at 10-1.

Meanwhile, Palmer-Tomkinson has become the bookmakers' 9-4 favourite to win the series.

The same number of people watched the opening episode on 25 August and equals the ratings for Celebrity Big Brother in 2001.
