Hutchence's father in Paula peace plea

Paula Yates with daughter Tiger Lily at Michael Hutchence's funeral

The father of former INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence wants to end his feud with Paula Yates before the anniversary of the rock star's suicide.

Kell Hutchence came close to crying as he appealed to his son's lover: "I want to get back together and hope we can resume our friendship."

The dispute between Yates and Hutchence senior arose after the singer's father tried to get temporary custody of his grand-daughter Tiger Lily while her mother was treated for depression earlier this year.

"I was concerned about Tiger's welfare ... I did it for good intentions," he told GMTV.

Yates broke off relations with him because of the dispute.

Mr Hutchence wants Tiger Lily to attend a memorial service for the INXS frontman in Sydney on 22 November - a year to the day after he was found hanging by his belt in a hotel room.

Yates last month lost custody of her three other daughters to their father Bob Geldof.
