Soap star aims for number one
Holly Valance
Valance is the latest soap-to-pop transition
Neighbours star Holly Valance is set to grab the number one spot in Sunday's singles charts.

Her debut release, Kiss Kiss, is likely to dislodge Sugababes release Freak Like Me.

The trio have spent only one week at number one.

But sources at Valance's record label, WEA/London, told BBC News Online midweek sales have been well ahead of Sugababes.

The soap star's single has been propelled by a raunchy video in which she appears to be dancing naked.

The 19-year-old half-English Australian performer found fame as Felicity, nicknamed Flick, in the show.

Last week she spoke to CBBC Newsround Online about her desire to change careers.

"I did enjoy acting and being on Neighbours but singing is where my heart's always been.

"I'm so lucky, not many people get up in the morning knowing that they are going to work to do the thing they love."

She added: "I wanted to make a raunchy video so that I would not be thought of as Flick from Neighbours."

Other contenders for the top of the charts are Moby's new single, and Tweet, Shakedown and Mary J Blige are also likely to do well.
