Showbiz party for bride Minnelli
Liza Minnelli and David Gest
Hollywood's A-list celebs will be at the wedding
Hollywood actress Liza Minnelli enjoyed a star-studded pre-wedding party as she was serenaded by her female friends.

Donna Summer and Natalie Cole performed a rendition of You Are So Beautiful to Me ahead of the actress' wedding on Saturday.

Socialite songwriter Denise Rich hosted the bridal shower at her Fifth Avenue penthouse in New York.

Among the 70 guests were peers of Minnelli's mother, Judy Garland, including Janet Leigh, Patricia Neal and Jane Powell.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor

Minnelli will marry fiance David Gest, a theatre producer, at the Marble Collegiate Church, followed by a lavish reception at a Wall Street hotel.

Brothers Michael and Tito Jackson will act as best men, and Whitney Houston will sing The Greatest Love of All to the congregation.

Bridesmaids in black

The remaining members of the Jackson Five - Marlon, Randy and Jackie - will be groomsmen.

Bridesmaids include Mia Farrow, Gina Lollobrigida, Petula Clark and ex-EastEnders actress Martine McCutcheon, who will all be dressed in black.

Hollywood star Elizabeth Taylor will be maid of honour, along with Minnelli's best friend Marisa Berenson.

This will be 56-year-old Minnelli's fourth wedding, one less than her mother.

Star guests at the wedding could face searches before entering the church, as the couple try to protect a deal made with a US magazine for exclusive pictures.

"Guests will not be allowed cameras or video cameras inside the church and will enter through metal detectors," Minnelli's publicist, Warren Crowles, told the New York Post.

Other guests at the New York church will be Sir Elton John, Michael Douglas, Kirk Douglas, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Liam Neeson, Natasha Richardson and property tycoon Donald Trump.
