Minnelli guests 'to be searched'
Minnelli is hoping it will be fourth time lucky
Star guests at the wedding of actress Liza Minnelli could be searched before being allowed inside the church, her publicist has warned.
Minnelli, 56, is to marry her fourth husband, David Gest, 48, on Saturday. Pictures from the wedding are being sold to an American magazine. "Guests will not be allowed cameras or video cameras inside the church and will enter through metal detectors," Minnelli's publicist, Warren Crowles, told the New York Post.
The weddig, to be attended by some of Hollywood's biggest names, will be followed by a reception in a Wall Street hotel, with 54 acts performing including the Doobie Brothers and Gloria Gaynor. Minnelli will be given away by Michael Jackson, who will also be one of Gest's best men, while Dame Elizabeth Taylor will be matron of honour. Gest produced Jackson's comeback show in New York in September. Bridesmaids will include ex-EastEnder Martine McCutcheon, Chaka Khan, Mia Farrow and socialite Nabila Khashoggi.
Other guests at the Marble Collegiate Church on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue will be Elton John, Michael Douglas, Kirk Douglas, Anthony Hopkins, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Liam Neeson and wife Natasha Richardson and property tycoon Donald Trump. Hollywood veterans, including actresses Gina Lollobrigida, Claudia Cardinale and Debra Paget, are also invited. Completing the list are Whitney Houston, who will sing as the bride walks down the aisle, Donny Osmond and Kiss frontman Gene Simmons. |
