A man ordered to stay away from actress Meg Ryan has been found competent to stand trial on charges of breaking into a home he believed belonged to her.

John Michael Hughes, 30, from Florida, is expected to stand trial on Thursday on charges of unlawful entry.

He is accused of breaking into the Malibu home of Tomas and Andrea Ryan on 6 January thinking it was Meg Ryan's house.

The actress is not related to the couple.

Asian Dub in Havana

The UK's Asian Dub Foundation will perform in Havana, Cuba, on Saturday at the invitation of the Cuban culture ministry and The British Council.

The bands have made a speciality of fusing rock and rap with Indian music and overt political statements.

Born in the UK, but of Indian and Bangladeshi descent, the members of the group began performing in 1993.

The band will appear in Havana alongside Cuban groups Sintesis and Equis Alfonso.

Bollywood awards for Malaysia

Malaysia will host the annual International Indian Film Academy awards on 6 April.

The ceremony, which the event director Sabbas Joseph described as "a global celebration of Indian cinema", has been held outside India since 2000.

Film fans will be able to cast votes for their favorite stars and films on the internet, once the nomination list is made public on 12 March.

The Indian film industry, widely known as Bollywood, produces some 800 movies a year.

Prima widow's royalties battle

The widow of swing star Louis Prima has sued Canadian record company Unidisc Music for royalties which she says are due to his estate.

It is the fourth suit Gia Maione has filed on behalf of the Grammy-winning composer.

Louis Prima, whose career spanned four decades, had hits with Jump, Jive An' Wail and Buona Sera before he died in 1978.

A Unidisc representative told a newspaper that it was not obliged to pay royalties because it had not so far released any of the singer's recordings.

Stricken Pryor wins back rights

Richard Pryor has won the right to recording masters made early in his comedy career.

The 60-year-old comic, now ill with multiple sclerosis, needed to secure the rights to the recordings to "take care of his family", said his lawyer, William J Heller.

Michael Chernow, MB Music Inc and San Juan Music Group agreed to return the recordings but admitted no wrongdoing.

In return, Pryor paid $10,000 (£7,000).

North scores low for tourists

The north of England is short of man-made heritage sites compared with the south, according to a study by Key Leisure Markets.

Official surveys among overseas visitors who were asked for their favourite historic towns showed only two northern cities - York and Chester - in the top 20.

Of the top 20 historic attractions in England, 75% are located in the south, with only three in the central region and two in the north.

Research director Gerry Smith said: "Thanks to its four National Parks, the northern third of England is well supplied with natural heritage assets [but] the central and northern regions are under-endowed with heritage assets."

Virgin DJ silenced

Virgin Radio DJ Jon Holmes has been taken off-air after a complaint about the content of his show.

The presenter has broadcast a number of risqué items on his weekly comedy spot for the station, and now a formal complaint is believed to have been lodged with the station by the Radio Authority.

A Virgin spokesman said: "We have received a complaint about the John Holmes broadcast earlier this year and we have now taken the show off the air."

The move follows soon after the departure of Breakfast Show host Steve Penk from Virgin earlier this year.
