Collins laughs off age difference
Joan Collins and Percy Gibson
Collins married Percy Gibson in February
Joan Collins has answered critics of her fifth marriage, to a man 32 years her junior, with a joke after returning from a honeymoon that she has described as "utter heaven".

The actress and author, 68, described theatre designer Percy Gibson, whom she married in London in February, as "gorgeous" during an interview with UK morning television broadcaster GMTV.

"Look, I'll tell you about the age thing - if he dies, he dies!" she joked.

She said they were "on the same wavelength" about almost everything after some people questioned whether this relationship could last.

She would continue to work, she said, and is currently promoting her latest novel, Star Quality.

'Incredible'

"I love putting my feet up and enjoying my new married life, but that doesn't mean I can't work as well," she said.

The couple have just returned from a two-week honeymoon on the Malaysian island of Pangkor Laut.

"We had our own private island - our own beach, our own swimming pool, three people to wait on us hand and foot - and the most incredible water, completely unpolluted, completely blue and warm, and just utter heaven," she said.

"I read five books, I wrote an article. He went on all kinds of jungle walks, then on kayaks and all those kinds of things that guys do, where I just said 'have a nice time - I'm just reading my Dean Koontz.'"

Home

Collins also revealed that the couple may move to New York - but would probably continue to move between the United States and the UK.

"Home will be wherever it is that we're working," she said.

The wedding took place at Claridges Hotel on 17 February, and the couple signed a big-money deal with OK! magazine to print exclusive wedding photographs.

Collins became involved with Gibson, who is from Peru, when he began working with her on Star Quality.

Her longest marriage so far, to film producer Ron Kass, lasted from 1972 to 1983.
