Collins' wedding album

Actress Joan Collins tied the knot for the fifth time on Sunday, to theatrical designer Percy Gibson. The 68-year-old's marriage to a man 32 years her junior is the latest twist in a colourful personal life which has often overshadowed her professional career.

BBC News Online looks back over the past five decades of Joan Collins' life.

Husband number one was screen idol Maxwell Reed in 1952. But the union lasted only four years.

Actor and singer Anthony Newley was next, in 1963. They split in 1971, but remained close until Newley died in 1999.

The couple had two children. Daughter Tara (above) is an actress, son Sacha is an artist.

Ron Kass became husband number three in 1972. The marriage lasted 12 years, and they have a daughter, Katy.

Swedish singer Peter Holm was 12 years Collins' junior when they married in 1985. They were divorced two years later.

Now Collins will be hoping Percy Gibson is her last husband. He proposed to her after just 12 weeks.
