In the Bedroom: Your views
Natalie (Marisa Tomei) and Frank (Nick Stahl)
In the bedroom is tipped for an Oscar
In the Bedroom, a small budget film by first-time director Todd Field, could easily have been lost among the big-money blockbusters in the current Hollywood climate.

But with its Golden Globe-winning performance from Sissy Spacek and numerous other nominations, it may well steal the show.

"Each scene has its purpose and weight - and all without Hollywood's usual additions of thrills, spills and noise," wrote BBC News Online's Rebecca Thomas.

She added: "The cynical will no doubt steer clear of such a movie. For others, what is promised is a deeply moving, thought-provoking experience that reminds us what it is to be human."

But what do you think?

Could this be an Oscar contender? What do you think of the actors' performances?

HAVE YOUR SAY

I can't decide which is the guilty pleasure. Going to blockbusters big on action and light on plot, or seeing exceptional works like this one. This is a film that makes you think and feel. Marisa Tomei was especially good.
Robert del Valle, USA

I didn't count but I doubt this film has a single cliché in it, just brilliant under played scenes and the best acting you'll ever see in a film. I can't recommend this film highly enough, but only go if you enjoy thoughtful, mature drama. In short this film is out of the very top draw, outstanding!
Keith, USA

Worst movie of the yea r- that's the best that can be said for In The Bedroom. Universal acclaim by paid critics shows that Hollywood reviewers are more Public Relations hands than reporters. This movie stunk from beginning to end.
Jillie Masterson, USA
