The crew are relative novices to space travel
The new series of the enduring hit sci-fi TV series Star Trek, Enterprise, has begun in the US.

"Certainly there are many questions to be answered about the decades that preceded the adventures of Kirk, Spock and company. "However, some fans may be disappointed by the emphasis on fast action rather than intellectual depth." But what do you think? Is the Star Trek prequel series a bold and refreshing step from its makers? Or should they have stuck to the original winning formula?
I watched the show on Wednesday and thought it was great. A mixture of Kirk and Riker as the captain, a great set and crew. The story line was pretty good too. I look forward to the rest of the season.

Enterprise has brought some freshness back to the franchise. The previous spin-offs were mostly PC talking heads. At least Enterprise isn't afraid to give faults to their characters. Scott Bakula did great!

I think a fresh new approach should breathe life once again into this remarkable series, which will hopefully again bring a wider range of viewers to the show.
Roddenberry would be embarrased by this tawdry boring soap opera with way too much violence and little, if any, imagination,
I think the idea of a prequel is a good one. There is very much unknown about the time before Kirk and Spock
I will admit despite inital worries - that theme song has to go and some rather big bumps along the way that can only be described as "plot sticks pounding on your head" - for a pilot episode Enterprise shows a great deal of promise.
I'm personally looking forward to seeing how it pans out.
It could be a new beginning or the final nail in the coffin for Star Trek.
Depends on how many fresh ideas the format frees up for the prequel really.
Enterprise has arrived and it is sexy!
It was fantastic - Bakula was excellent as the Captain and cruised his way through the role as a tough but approachable Starfleet Officer.
The first episode was great, it kept me on the edge of my seat. The captain did as all of them do; saved the day at the last minute. I look forward to a great season and the crew is awsome. But how do you give a dog a sonic bath?
Unlike the previous incarnations, this is set in a much less perfect universe. If you like your science fiction all clean and sanitised, you probably won't like this as much. This has a lot of promise and I might finally enjoy a Trek series.
