Colin Aylott, defending Mr Kay, said the woman had been making the pop star's life a nightmare for months, threatening to burn down his home and allegedly assaulting a member of his staff. Mr Kay was caught speeding in his Ferrari on May 30 after he had been told that the woman, who was arrested earlier in the day, had returned to pay him a visit at his home in Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. Mr Kay was banned from driving for 42 days and fined £540 with additional costs of £35. Panicking at the wheel Mr Aylott said: "Earlier on the day in question a woman was arrested at Mr Kay's property. "She has been somebody who has caused him problems of varying degrees of seriousness over a considerable period of time. "She was arrested on the morning he was caught speeding and after giving a statement to police, Mr Kay left his home for London," Mr Aylott said.
The member of staff had seen her cark parked outside the house, which Mr Aylott said, gave Mr Kay "considerable cause for concern". Mr Kay then accelerated after panicking and was caught by motorway police doing a speed of 111mph, Mr Aylott said. Past occurrences Mr Aylott also said that "incidents" between the woman and Mr Kay had occurred over the past few months although they had not amounted to assault. However, she is alleged to have assaulted a member of his staff and personally made various threats against Mr Kay. The woman is currently under investigation for the alleged offences against Mr Kay. A letter from Sergeant Gordon Wilkins of Thames Valley Police concerning the case against her was handed to the magistrate. |
