My Music: Lifehouse
Lifehouse: Have sold 1.5 million albums in the US
Lifehouse are at the head of a new wave of American alternative rock bands who have already taken their home country by storm and are now in the process of becoming worldwide stars.
Lead singer Jason Wade, along with bassist Sergio Andrade and drummer Rick Woolstenhulme, have already had chart success with their single Hanging By A Moment. They tell BBC News Online about their musical turn-ons.
What types of music did you listen to when you were younger?
Jason: Michael W Smith and Amy Grant. What was the most recent album you bought?
Jason: Ours and Parachutes by Coldplay. Are there any songs that get you fired up to go on stage or go into the studio?
Jason: Enya. Where do you most like listening to music - and why?
Jason: My car. You feel separated from the world and in your own little world. Are there any songs you can't listen to because they remind you of something you would rather forget? Can you say what it is?
Rick: I Think Were Alone Now by Tiffany. I was chasing a girl who didn't like me! What song always makes you cry?
Jason: Yesterday by the Beatles.
Jason: Elliot Smith's Miss Misery. Do you prefer listening to a CD or going to a gig? Why?
Jason: I like the energy of a live show, I like the intimacy of a CD. Which song from the past 12 months is most likely to gain classic status?
Jason: Ms Jackson by Outkast. Do you listen to any British artists?
Jason: Yes, Coldplay, Travis and Radiohead. Is Britain a harder market to crack than the US?
Rick: Not necessarily harder, just different. But I wouldn't know because we haven't cracked it yet. If you organised a festival, who would have as headline and supporting acts?
Jason: Radiohead would headline the event, with Incubus opening the event. |
