Potter teaser set for UK cinemas
Daniel Radcliffe plays Harry Potter

The second teaser trailer for the forthcoming Harry Potter will hit UK cinemas on Friday 20 July.

The two and a half minutes of footage has already been seen on the internet and in American cinemas.

In many cinemas the trailer will be shown before Jurassic Park III. And later in August it will also appear before the new movie Cats and Dogs.

The Harry Potter movie hits cinemas on 16 November, but there will probably be one more new trailer which could appear in September.

The two-and-a-half-minute trailer gives a tantalising teaser to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, adapted from the first best-selling novel by JK Rowling.

The film stars Dame Maggie Smith, John Hurt, Robbie Coltrane and newcomer Daniel Radcliffe as the teen wizard Harry.

Director Chris Columbus says the film will remain true to the book

The trailer introduces viewers to the world of Harry Potter as he embarks on his new life as a wizard at Hogwarts school of magic.

Coltrane plays Hogwarts's groundsman and teacher Hagrid. The trailer begins as he opens Harry's eyes to what he really is.

"Have you ever made anything happen, things you cannot explain? You're a wizard, Harry!," he exclaims.

The mood is eerie. Owls fly across the screen as the trailer transports you into the depths of Hogwarts - an enormous castle with flame torches and spookily moving stairs.

The music speeds up and rises as Harry is seen going through his apprentice wizard paces, learning how to fly, handle a broom-stick - and casting spells.

Harry Potter director Chris Columbus has promised fans the film will be as close to the book as possible.
