George Harrison
George Harrison's contribution to The Beatles was a considerable one but as the quietest of the fab four he shied away from media attention. BBC News Online brings you a selection of the few interviews he allowed to take place.


25 February 1964
Harrison

On his 21st birthday, the youngest member of the fab four is away from home and missing being spoilt by his family. He tells the BBC that he is happy to be in The Beatles but they will never be millionaires.

In the 1980s the former Beatle indulged his passion for cinema, helping set up Handmade Films which produced a number of feature films including Monty Python's Life of Brian and Withnail and I. Film 83's Nicholas Shakespeare interviewed Harrison in Henley where his production of Bullshot was being shot.

Despite being a private man, the ex-Beatle appeared on the Wogan show to support his wife, Olivia, who was at the forefront of the Romanian Angels Appeal, which first marshalled public opinion to try to help the child victims of President Ceausescu's tyrannical reign.
