Big Brother house set for first eviction
Big Brother 2's Helen and Penny
Helen or Penny: The first eviction takes place shortly
Tensions are rising as the Big Brother housemates prepare for the house's first eviction.

School teacher Penny and hairdresser Helen have both been nominated for eviction by their housemates in the Channel 4 gameshow.

The house will see a new arrival over the weekend, 32-year old property manager Josh - the Big Brother housemates are still unaware of this development.

Josh, voted into the house by viewers last Friday, has already zoomed in as second favourite to win the contest, with William Hill offering odds of 6-1.

'Enough'

On Thursday Penny criticised her housemates one-by-one, ending with an angry scream.

Penny
Penny: "They think I'm neurotic and weird? How about Bubble?"
"I've had enough," she told Narinder.

"I'm going out tomorrow."

Judging by the comments she has made about fellow contestants, they may not be sad to see her go.

Referring to web designer Elizabeth, Penny said: "She wouldn't be my chosen friend because she's always about number one."

She called hat-wearing Bubble, who was celebrating his 25th birthday on Thursday, a "roughneck" and branded the other men as "boring".

And in a final taunt at the whole Big Brother exercise she had dire predictions for the future.

"They will have a boring programme if this continues," she said.

"Everyone's so superficial."

Elizabeth
Elizabeth - Penny condemns her as "being about number one"
Penny has already said that she is not bothered about the possibility of being the first to leave.

"It's really not a problem, the first person out and the last person out will be getting most of the media attention."

Last year Sada Wilkington was the first to go and embarked on a round of interviews and promotion deals.

Challenge

The atmosphere in the house was distinctly better for Bubble's birthday celebrations, which included a lavish Indian supper.

Bubble made an emotional birthday speech, addressed mainly to the girls, who had donned party outfits for the occasion.

"Thank you very much for all being here," he laughed.

"I'm really pleased you could all make it."

Helen
Helen: "What's pilau rice?"
The birthday meal proved a challenge for Helen, who claimed not to know what pilau rice or chicken korma were.

William Hill has odds on the axe falling on Penny and Coral Eurobet has suspended betting on her, so swamped were they with bets on her eviction.

She is the outsider at 33-1 to win the contest.

Outside the house she has been given black marks from her headmistress who said she could face the sack after appearing nude in front of cameras and setting a bad example to her pupils.
