Madonna's 'wedding bracelet' for sale

A 3,000 year-old Egyptian mummy, Joan Crawford's favourite necklace and Madonna's wedding bracelet are for sale at the Olympia Fine Art Fair which opens on Thursday.
Though information about the singer's nuptial attire remains scant, Moira of Bond Street, who is selling the bracelet, say the item was worn by Madonna for her wedding to Guy Ritchie last December.
"It's a very pretty bracelet which we have bought privately," Suzanne Lauder of Moira of Bond Street told BBC News Online. "She never owned it, but she liked the gothic look of it and thought it went with her outfit - maybe it was her 'something borrowed'." Remarkable The bracelet is on sale for £49,000. Also for sale is a set of gold, aquamarine and diamond jewellery, which belonged to Joan Crawford. Born Lucille Fay LeSueur, Crawford had a remarkable 50 year career in film, in which she was as well known for her tempestuous nature as her acting ability.
She wore the suite of necklace, bracelet and brooch that is on sale in the 1939 film The Women, which also starred Norma Shearer. Crawford won an Oscar for Mildred Pierce in 1945 and her career had a late revival with Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? in 1962. Lucky Another highlight in the sale is a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy, encased in a highly decorated wooden coffin.
The human remains have been identified as those of a 51-year-old. "We're very excited about it - we were lucky enough to buy the mummy from a European House of nobility," says Jay Arenski of Peter Petrou. "We hope that a museum will buy it, but for anybody interested in ancient civilisation is great." The Mummy itself has been interfered with - Arenski says that this was a common occurrence in the 19th Century, which is when the mummy was found. The Summer Olympia Fine Art fair takes place at Olympia Exhibition Centre, London from 7-17 June.
