Eminem in more divorce trouble

Eminem: Earnings put at $2.7m (1.9m) per year
Rap star Eminem's divorce proceedings have hit problems after his wife said she wants more child support money than the court has recommended.

The Macomb County Friend of the Court said the rapper should give Kimberly Mathers $142,480 (100,800) a year for their daughter, Hailie.

But Mrs Mathers, who is unemployed, says he should pay more.

The couple agreed to share custody of five-year-old Hailie after divorce proceedings began for the second time in March.

'Inadequate'

The recommendation also calls for the 28-year-old rapper to pay $156 ($110) a week for health insurance and 90% of child care costs.

But Mrs Mathers' attorney Robert Feldstein described the amount as "inadequate and inequitable".

Eminem: Due in court on 5 June
Court papers puts Eminem's earnings at $2.7m (1.9m) per year.

His lawyer said the two parties have not had a chance to negotiate over the final settlement.

"There's been no opportunity yet to [discuss numbers]," Harvey Hauer was quoted as saying by The Macomb Daily newspaper.

A judge rarely accepts the first recommendations, but uses them as a starting point for an agreement.

The couple have already agreed that Eminem will keep their $450,000 (318,000) home in Clinton Township, Michigan, while his wife will get $475,000 to buy her own house.

The first divorce suit was filed by Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers III, in August 2000 after a run-in with police and a suicide attempt by his wife.

Eminem and Kim had tried to make amends, but the pair decided the marriage "just isn't going to work".

They married in June 1999.

Kim has previously sued her husband for defamation following the release of the song Kim, in which he detailed the fictional killing of his wife.

The pair reached a settlement for her $10m (6.8m) legal action.

Eminem is due to appear in court on 5 June to be sentenced for gun charges.

He was given two years probation in April for separate charges of carrying a concealed weapon.
