Hat-trick for Spy Kids
![]() Spy Kids stays at number one
Spy Kids, starring Antonio Banderas, is at number one in the US movie charts for a third consecutive week.
The film - an espionage caper following a brother and sister who get caught up in the adventures of their secret agent parents - has now taken $68.6m (£47.8m) since it opened.
The much-hyped comedy Bridget Jones's Diary opened at number three in the charts, taking $10.8m (£7.5m) despite only showing on half the number of screens as Spy Kids. The film, starring Renee Zellweger, is expected to figure strongly in the UK box office charts, released on Tuesday. Crime thriller Along Came A Spider, starring Morgan Freeman, stayed at number two after taking $11.3m (£7.8m) in its second weekend.
Joe Dirt, based on a sketch from Saturday Night Live, opened at number four with $8.2m (£5.7m) while Kingdom Come, at number six, took $7.5m (£5.2m). Josie and the Pusseycats opened at number seven, earning $5.2m (£3.6m) at the box office.
