Labour denies Fatboy link
Proud parents Zoe and Norman with baby Woody
Norman Cook and Zoe Ball became parents last year
The Labour Party has denied reports that DJ Fatboy Slim will campaign on behalf of the party in the run up to a General Election.

Reports have surfaced on a number on music websites, including MTV, that the DJ, real name Norman Cook, would appear at a number of Labour pre-election events countrywide, alongside his wife Zoe Ball.

Other celebrities such as Barbara Windsor from EastEnders and Tracy Shaw from Coronation Street were also reported to be campaigning on behalf of the Labour Party.

But a spokesman for the Labour Party told BBC News Online: "There are no quotes in these stories because the reports are totally without foundation."

Left-wing support

Cook has made no secret of his left-wing support in the past and spoke out in favour Ken Livingstone during the mayoral elections in London last year.

The DJ and musician married former BBC Radio 1 presenter Zoe Ball in August 1999 at Babington Hall, Somerset, and the couple had their first child in December last year.

He recently performed the DJ duties at the post-Oscars Vanity Fair party in Los Angeles.
