Louise and Jamie in wedded bliss
Pop star Louise Nurding has married Liverpool footballer Jamie Redknapp on a luxury yacht in Bermuda. The couple arrived at the 130ft cruiser called Lady Tamara in separate horse-drawn carriages, before sailing off to exchange their vows. Louise, 23, wore a cream off-the-shoulder knee-length dress, while Jamie, 25, wore a black safari suit. Around 50 friends and family attended the hour-long ceremony.
The Walt Disney Company took over Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on Monday for one of the most lavish film premieres in motion picture history. An estimated £1m was spent on the bash for the big budget space extravaganza Armageddon, starring Bruce Willis, which is set to open in Britain in August. But Disney saved money when Steve Tyler's band Aerosmith performed at the event for free. His daughter Liv Tyler co-stars with Willis in the film.
Michael Jackson is still keen on building an amusement park in Poland despite choosing Rio as the venue for a major theme park. A spokesman said Jackson had extended for a year his letter of intent to build a $500m amusement park in Warsaw. So far he has been unable to get permission for his favoured site, at a military airport. Last week officials in Rio said the star was planning a $800m theme park.
Sylvester Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, have announced the birth of their second child. Sistine Rose was born in a Los Angeles hospital on Saturday, weighing seven pounds six ounces. "This is a great day for our family," said Stallone, adding that both mother and baby were doing fine. The couple's other child, 22-month-old Sophia Rose, had successful surgery for a hole in the heart last Autumn.
Hollywood marriage survives double-act
Antonio Banderas, who was warned that directing wife Melanie Griffith could mean curtains for their marriage, is relieved to find it wasn't so. Banderas has just finished directing Crazy in Alabama in which his wife plays a would-be actress up for the starring role in TV series Bewitched. "It was a pleasure to work for him," said Griffith who appears along with Robert Wagner, Paul Mazursky and Randal Klesier in the 1965-set black comedy.
Corrie Street Star arrested
Actor Bruce Jones who plays Les Battersby in Coronation Street was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving at the weekend, police have confirmed. The 45-year-old actor was stopped by police near his home in Manchester, breathalysed and then taken to a police station where he gave a blood sample. The results of the tests have not yet been revealed. Jones's on-screen character, the father of the Battersby "family from hell", was banned from driving for a year in an episode shown last month.
