Vanessa attacks reality TV
![]() Knocked out: Chris Eubank and Vanessa Feltz were evicted
Vanessa Feltz has criticised reality TV programmes such as Big Brother as "damaging" after her eviction from the celebrity Big Brother house.
The TV presenter, who spent four days in the Big Brother house as part of Comic Relief, said the experience was "ridiculously intense" and "unnerving".
She told Channel 4's Big Breakfast that she "hardly survived the experience" of living with five other celebrities, including Anthea Turner, Claire Sweeney, Jack Dee, Chris Eubank and Keith Duffy. She said: "I think reality TV programmes do a lot of damage. "Nothing prepares you for scrutiny and incarceration and worrying what people might think of you and trying to survive all at once. "Believe me it was extremely intense and a most unnerving thing." 'Jungle' Vanessa Feltz said she would never forget the experience. "It really is ridiculously intense in there. It doesn't feel like a [game show]. It feels like a jungle.
She said she had agreed to appear on the programme because she was a fan of the original series. She said: "I hoped it would be an adventure and it certainly was. It will be an experience I will never ever forget. "Bloody hell, I hardly survived it. I wanted to see what it was like because I loved the original programme and I wanted to know how it felt in there. "Having been in there, I have maximum respect for the original inhabitants. I can't believe they survived in those circumstances for so long." 'Vanity' She also criticised some celebrities who had refused to go on the programme. she said: "I understand that when they were trying to get celebs to do it various stars, whom I won't name, said 'Oh yes, I'd be very happy to do it. What time do hair and make-up arrive?'. "That's vanity. The people who really are vain are the people who didn't do it not the people who did." Meanwhile, the remaining celebrities - Dee, Duffy, Turner and Sweeney - face possible food rationing. They will have to survive the rest of the week in the Comic Relief Big Brother house with dwindling food supplies, having blown most of their weekly budget on fruit and alcohol. Eviction Dee, Turner and Duffy are all facing eviction on Wednesday night when the vote is put to the public. The next evictee will be ejected during Thursday's TV update at 2100GMT on Channel 4 and 2335GMT on BBC One. Contestants are being kicked out every other day, with a winner finally being declared on Friday during the Comic Relief broadcast. Bookmaker William Hill now puts Sweeney at 6-4 favourite to win followed by Duffy and Dee on 11-4 and Turner on 7-2. Each call made to evict a celebrity makes 15.5p for Comic Relief.
