Eubank and Turner face Big Brother exit

Big Brother celebrities prepare to enter the house
Former boxer Chris Eubank and television presenter Anthea Turner are the first to have been nominated to leave the celebrity Big Brother house.

The pair were initial favourites to be evicted and Eubank was nominated by every one of the other five residents. Turner received three nominations.

The public will get to vote out one of the pair on Saturday evening by telephone and online at the Comic Relief website.

The six celebrity contestants for the Comic Relief Big Brother special have been enjoying their first night inside the famous house.

Constant gaze

Along with Chris Eubank and Anthea Turner, television presenter Vanessa Feltz, comedian Jack Dee, Boyzone singer Keith Duffy and actress Claire Sweeney - Lindsey Corkhill in Brookside - will eat, sleep and live with each other under the constant gaze of TV cameras.

The celebrities entered the East London house, with identical red cases carrying their few possessions, marking the red motif of Comic Relief.

One of the six will be evicted every other day, and viewers will be able to follow their progress in special programmes on both Channel 4 and BBC One.

For their first meal in the house, the contestants had soup and cheese.

But they drew up a shopping list which included pine kernels - to create their own pesto sauce - and frozen Yorkshire puddings.

Kaftan

Wearing a kaftan, Eubank dozed off while the rest of the team sat around chatting.

He incurred the wrath of Boyzone singer Keith Duffy who described him as "quite rude" for asking fellow housemate Claire Sweeney to make him a cup of tea.

Unlike the original Big Brother programme last year, there are no cameras in the toilet or shower and there will not be a constant broadcast from the house on the internet.

The series guarantees television exposure for Turner and Vanessa Feltz, whose careers have suffered downturns recently.

Former National Lottery draw presenter Turner, 40, said she would be dreading "not having a bathroom or as much hot water as I want" - the housemates are only allowed a limited amount of hot water.

Feltz, 38, whose BBC contract was not renewed last year after her daytime talk show flopped, said she was dreading sharing a toilet.

Who will win?

"I might not go until I'm evicted," she said.

Keith Duffy, 26, said he would "probably" cheat and that he would miss his wife and two children.

Jack Dee added he only entered the charity stunt because "Lenny Henry threatened to kill me if I didn't agree".

One member of the house from last summer's series will be joining the celebrities in the run-up to Red Nose Day - Marjorie the chicken.

Vanessa Feltz: Odds of 5-1 to win Big Brother

Bookmaker Ladbrokes has made Claire Sweeney favourite to win at 2-1, with Anthea Turner at 9-1 the most likely to be evicted on Saturday.

There will be nightly updates on both BBC One and Channel 4 throughout the week.
