Victoria Beckham: Known for distinctive style

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has been voted best dressed star of the year in a national poll.

The singer, known for her distinctive outfits which include skimpy dresses and a revealing slash-fronted top - beat her husband David in a year-end poll of Heat readers.

Model and actress Kelly Brook's barely-there asymmetric dress, designed by Julien Macdonald, won her a double prize - best and worst outfit of 2000.

Brook, who used to present the Big Breakfast, wore the pink dress cut so high it showed her knickers at the premiere of Snatch, starring her boyfriend Jason Statham.

Posh beat runner-up Davina McCall, renowned for her plunging neckline at the Q Awards.

It was later revealed that her dress needed sticky-tape to make sure it kept her covered.

And in third place was someone who probably did not mind Victoria winning - her husband Manchester United star David Beckham.

The Spice Girl, who took to the catwalk this year for designer Maria Grachvogel, said: "I'm extremely flattered - but I think David should have won."

Heat editor Mark Frith said: "Victoria has real style and a sense of event.

"She knows that people are going to be taking her picture whenever she walks out of the door so always makes sure we have something to talk about."

She and David were also celebrating being named reader's favourite celebrity supercouple, ahead of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt and Madonna and Guy Ritchie.

However, Victoria also received a snub from readers who voted her the fifth worst-dressed star.

That category was topped by singer Macy Gray, known for her fluorescent scarves, wacky Seventies shades and pimp-style gear, with Kelly Brook runner-up.
