Turner prize: Spot the difference

The German-born photographer Wolfgang Tillmans wins the £20,000 Turner Prize at Tate Britain. Despite this year's shortlist being one of the most conservative for many years, controversy as usual surrounds the award. One of this year's nominees was accused of plagiarism. BBC News Online looks at this and previous rows.

Glenn Brown's entry this year, Loves of Shepherds 2000, is an almost identical copy of the cover of a 1970's science fiction book. But Chair of the Turner Prize jury, Sir Nicholas Serota, says the issue is what the artist has done with the borrowed material. ![]()
