What Lies Beneath, the Harrison Ford
and Michelle Pfeiffer horror movie, has gone back to the top of the UK box office charts.
What Lies Beneath earned £812,000 over the 17-19 November weekend, according to official figures from Screen International. It was enough to raise the movie - described as a pyschological chiller thriller - from its number two spot. It is the second time it has been at number one in its five-week run and takes its overall earnings to £10.6m in Britain.
Liz Hurley's Bedazzled fell to number two after one week with takings of £70,000 - £2.1m in two weeks. Little Nicky, the latest Adam Sandler film, earned £572,000, enough to put it into third spot in the charts in its first week. Science-fiction adventure Pitch Black fell from three to four with takings of £541, 000. Billy Elliot continued to do well, taking £527,000 over the weekend. The film, starring Jamie Bell and Julie Walters, lost one place, falling from four to five. It has now earned £15m in the UK alone - the most for any film currently in the British top 15.
