Victoria follows David's tattoo tribute
Victoria Beckham has had her first tattoo done after persuasion from footballer husband David.

The Manchester United star revealed at the weekend he had had Victoria's name inscribed on his arm in Hindi.

Victoria, 26, returned the compliment by having a tribute to him and baby son Brooklyn tattooed on her back.

She has three stars at the base of her spine to represent the Beckham family.


ITV launches 'real-life' soap

ITV is launching a Big Brother style show where the viewers will make life choices for the participants.

Six contestants will have their lives mapped out for them in Public Property, which is described as a real-life soap.

Viewers will be able to vote on which direction the contestants should take their lives, from where to live to what to wear each day.

The programme will be screened over 12 weeks in a late afternoon slot.


Weitz brothers tipped for Hornby film

American Pie creators Chris and Paul Weitz are set to direct a film adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel, About A Boy, according to US reports.

Variety is tipping Hugh Grant as a contender for the lead role, a wealthy layabout who befriends the 12-year-old son of a woman he is trying to date.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting next March in the UK.

Hornby's previous two books, High Fidelity and Fever Pitch, have both been filmed.


Baby Pilot born

Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland has become a father, his publicist announced in Los Angeles on Monday.

The baby boy, who war born on 19 November, was the first for the 33-year-old singer and wife Mary. The couple have named him Noah Mercer Weiland.

Weiland said: "It was the most glorious moment in my life. He is healthy, wealthy and wiser than me."

Stone Temple Pilots, who have just completed a concert tour, will return to the studio in January to begin recording a new album.


Limp Bizkit tour in doubt

Rock band Limp Bizkit's US tour has hit trouble because singer Fred Durst is suffering from throat problems.

The band cancelled a show in San Diego on Sunday, the fifth concert to be cancelled on the gruelling tour.

Radio station KIOZ-FM said its switchboard "was lit up all night" with angry fans.

The tour's next date, in San Antonio on Wednesday, is still in doubt, but the band insists the tour will continue.


Rapper arrested in restaurant

Rapper ODB has been arrested by police in Philadelphia after he fled a drug treatment programme.

The Wu-Tang Clan member was arrested in a fast-food restaurant on Monday.

Police said he fled a California Clinic then failed to appear for a court hearing on October 17.

He was sentenced to the programme last year when he was convicted of making a terrorist threat.


Maynard plans Heartbeat departure

Actor Bill Maynard is to leave the ITV drama Heartbeat after eight years of playing rogue Claude Greengrass.

The 72-year-old has been recovering from a stroke in recent months, but he has continued to work on the show.

He said: "It's time I looked for pastures new. I've got a few ideas."

Maynard's last appearance will be in a Christmas special of the 1960s-themed show, which is set on the north Yorkshire moors.
