Madonna sells LA home
Pop star Madonna has sold her Hollywood Hills home to American TV star Jenna Elfman and her husband for $4m (£2.8m), according to the Los Angeles Times.

The house was on the market for around five months before being bought by Elfman, who co-stars in the successful TV sitcom Dharma And Greg.

Madonna, who has a three-month-old son with British director Guy Ritchie, is said to have bought a house in London's Notting Hill last week for around £6.9m



Technology drama novel previews on net

Life will immitate art tomorrow when a spin-off book based on BBC Two IT drama Attachments is previewed on the net.

On The Edge features the intimate confessions of Jake and Luce, following their experiences both in the computer industry and between the sheets.

The novel will be available in print later this month, but the BBC decided to publish its first eBook to satisfy those viewers who cannot wait that long .

The eBook - priced at £5.99 - can be purchased from www.ontheedgebook.co.uk.


Streisand's lifetime award

The American Film Institute will give a lifetime achievement award to Barbra Streisand at a ceremony in Los Angeles on 22 February.

Streisand is the 29th recipient of the prestigious award, and the first female director to be honoured.

Previous AFI recipients include Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Billy Wilder, Dustin Hoffman and Jack Nicholson.

Streisand has already won two Oscars, 10 Grammys, three Emmys and a Tony.
