An anti-gun and violence festival is being held in east London this weekend.
Organisers of Increase the Peace say the event is designed to bring the community together and create a sense of hope and unity in Hackney.
Artists, bands and DJs are attending the festival which features a talent competition for would-be MCs, rappers and dancers as well as a gospel musical gala.
Junior Spence, one of the organisers, told BBC London that all the agencies need to work together in order to fight crime.
He said: "It's going to be a long journey because it's not just going to involve the church, it will involve MPs, police, community leaders, youth workers and the community really coming together and making a stand.
"And showing people that although this business is very lucrative and you can make a lot of money basically it's not lasting and you can lose your life over it."
The free event continues on Sunday at the Round Chapel on Lower Clapton Road in Hackney.
