(Close): US stocks finished up on Tuesday as worries about Dubai's debt problems continued to ease.

The Dow Jones index gained 126.66 points, or 1.2%, to reach 10,471.50 points.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 31.21 points or 1.5% to 2,175.81 points. Smartheat was the biggest winner up 1.68, or 12.7% to $14.90.

And the broad-market Standard & Poor's 500 edged up 13.22 points, or 1.2% to 1,108.85 points.
