(Open): The main share index was barely changed with little corporate news about affecting FTSE 100 companies.

The FTSE 100 was up just 5.99 points at 5,321.08. Trading was expected to stay quiet ahead of a testimony by US Fed chief Ben Bernanke to Congress.

Outside the top 100 firms, Wickes owner Travis Perkins fell 6% after it reported a fall in profits and said trading was set to remain tough.

Moneysupermarket rose 2.2% after annual results hit expectations.
