Savings cuts to 'hit middle class families'

Millions of families face an anxious wait to find out who will be hit hardest by the inevitable savings plans, as the new government works on the detail of its economic policies.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies has told the BBC that to raise significant amounts of money, ministers will have to increase taxes for those on middle incomes.

Keith Doyle reports.
