Oil leak: 'Faulty equipment to blame'

BP says a steel dome designed to cover the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico has been lowered to the sea bed, ahead of being moved into position.

A US Congressional committee has said it believes there was a fault with a safety device meant to stop oil leaking from the rig which exploded.

But oil company executives say it is too early to conclude what caused the disaster.
