Touring ZTE's factory, inside its HQ in Shenzhen,China

Mukul Devichand tours ZTE's high tech factory floor, which in the name of transparency has been located in the same skyscraper as the company headquarters in Shenzhen, southern China.

The technology designed and manufactured by the Zhong xing Telecommunication Equipment company, to give it its full name, now sells in 140 countries. Some say it could be the Nokia or Samsung of tomorrow.

Like many Chinese firms, it has a background as a "State-Owned Enterprise": a uniquely Chinese mix of the Communist government and the market. It is now also listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.
