US government will make 'billions' on Citigroup shares

The American government is to begin selling its mass shareholding in Citigroup, once the world's biggest banking firm.

It bought the shares in 2008, at the height of the US financial crisis.

At current prices, the sale would yield several billion dollars in profit for the US Treasury.

Caroline Hepker reports.
