Labour will pull economy from "storm" of recession

Gordon Brown has promised to pull the British economy out of what he called the "storm" of recession.

He has announced that the last budget before the election will be held in two weeks time - on March 24th.

He also confirmed a pay freeze for senior staff in the civil service, military and judiciary.
