Hugh Hendry manages about $400m in his Eclectica Asset Management funds. He remains pessimistic about the recession and believes it takes many years to recover when economic bubbles burst. The best thing he ever did was to turn his back on accountancy and follow his heart to become a hedge fund manager.

Hugh appeared on The Bottom Line which is broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. Subscribe to the podcast or watch it on BBC News Channel.
