Sainsbury's profits rise

Sainsbury's results for the first half of the year are ahead of expectations. Sainsbury's made £342m before tax in the 28 weeks to the 3rd of October. That figure is up by around a third compared with the same period last year. Like-for-like sales also rose by 5.7%.

Sainsbury's Chief Executive, Justin King, told the BBC that customers are starting to spend more money in store.
