Superdrug depot staff on strike

Striking Superdrug workers
Superdrug workers attended a rally outside the distribution centre

Workers at one of Superdrug's three national distribution centres have begun an indefinite strike over changes to pay and conditions.

Staff at the facility in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, have walked out. The firm has two other centres in Avonmouth and Dunstable that are unaffected.

The Unite union said its 261 members at the site were striking because of cuts in shift pay and other entitlements.

A Superdrug spokeswoman has said the firm's supplies will not be affected.

The health and beauty chain has more than 900 stores across the UK.
