New period of 'industrial unrest'

The GMB union has warned that Britain is entering a period of "heightened industrial unrest".

It says it is up to employers to behave responsibly to prevent more strikes.

But in some sectors unease is already growing. The row over refuse collection in Leeds looks likely to spread to other areas, and fire fighters in South Yorkshire are beginning a five-day walkout.
