France leads the way in bonus capping


The US and other G20 nations are under pressure to back tougher rules on bankers' pay at this week's summit.

EU leaders have united in calling for binding rules backed by sanctions. But there are divisions over capping bonuses, with the US firmly opposed.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has led the charge for mandatory limits, leading to fears of a brain drain from the country's banks.
