Mobile phone fraud on the rise

There has been a jump in the number of people having their mobile phone accounts taken over by identity thieves.

The UK's Fraud Prevention Service CIFAS says it has seen a 74 per cent rise in cases in the first six months of this year compared with the same time in 2008.

Fraudsters often add additional phones to the account, and run up huge bills.

Matt Cole reports.
